Thousands of people have relocated to different countries and are still relocating for obvious reasons. For many people desperate to leave and pursue greener pastures and are not quite sure because of how stressful, lonely and very tough the journey can be. This is for you, so come along.
Here are 5 ways to stay sane and happy during this critical time.
1. Make a list of the things you’re grateful for
It can be very funny or sarcastic to do, but it helps you stay sane as it’s not a child’s play to even relocate; from making research for job opportunities to school opportunities, to getting accepted, applying for visa and all. The list of things you’re grateful for is actually endless, it can be anything from your loved ones to your health to your home country. Writing down your thoughts helps you stay positive during tough times.
2. Find a community of people who are also moving abroad for study or work
This is also a good move because everyone needs support and a community to lean on when they are weak, tired and down. Having a community of people looking to relocate (Japa community, this might be a good name for you) is one thing you should jump on because you will be shocked how happy you will be, seeing someone that can relate with your challenges and issues.
It’s also a great place to make friends and share advice.
3. Get involved in your new community
Make up your mind to contribute something to the new community you are relocating to, it could be volunteering to read to children 3 hours a week, going to care for old or sick people in the hospital, joining a new club of doing community service, it helps you meet more people and widens your network.
You never can tell, it could land you a great job and many opportunities.
4. Find yourself a job that you love doing
Start making your research on jobs that you want from the moment you make up your mind to leave because doing something you love and make money from is a really great thing. It helps you do better on the long run.
5. Stay positive and optimistic
This is is a major way to successful relocate outside the shores of your country, confessing positive things, gassing yourself up, seeing yourself in the dream country is also really helpful.
Regardless of what is going on during the relocation process, stay hopeful and grateful. BE POSITIVE and the universe will align.
